Family History Help at Gainsborough Library. If you are interested in your family history but don't know where to start looking, then Gainsborough library is the place for you.
Family history sessions are held every Friday from 2.30pm - 3.30pm. Experienced staff will be able to guide you through the many resources available.
The library has access to a host of databases which are invaluable tools to enable in depth research. Your family tree will soon start to grow.

The Gainsborough & District Flower Club nights are on the fourth Thursday in the month start time 7:15 p.m. at Gladstone House, Ropery Road, Gainsborough DN21 2TS.

The Centre is spread over three floors. The ground floor includes an industrial exhibition area featuring products and machines from local firms long gone. The first floor shows a twentieth-century themed street including former shops from Gainsborough’s past. The second floor is home to the research library and associated archives in various forms.
"The Centre has a dedicated team of volunteers who assist visitors with their visit, whether welcoming them to the Centre, working as a guide to the exhibitions or helping visitors with their research requests." New volunteers are always welcome with lots of opportunities to learn more. Membership of the Centre costs just £15 per year (£100 for life membership).

Gainsborough PROBUS meets on Mondays, except Bank Holidays, so over 40 times per year. The venue is Morton Village Hall. We start with coffee at 9.45. The meeting proper begins 10.00.
"We have an outside speaker for half of our meetings, with presentations and other contributions from our members for the other half. The finishing time is (about) 11.30.“ We also meet as a group for pub lunches occasionally during the year.
"We are currently seeking new members to enjoy our varied programme of informative presentations, as well as the opportunity to meet together with others of similar interests. "

The long-established Gainsborough Methodist Camera Club is open to people of all ages, levels and experience.

This Society is crammed full of model railway layouts. Open Days are always well attended and there are refreshments provided in the "Waiting Room". The next Open Day is Saturday 8th April 2023.

Gainsborough has a well established Rotary Club.
One of the many community projects undertaken by Rotary, this beautiful planting display was put together in Richmond Park for the Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
The club will be working hard in preparation for the Firework Display coming up in November 2024. Always something to look forward to, their displays just get better and better!

“The official part of the meetings commence at 10.20am and we usually have finished by 11.45am, but do join us from 10am onwards for a cup of tea/coffee and a chat.” As can be seen above, there is always a wide range of subjects at the group meetings throughout the year. Something for everyone!
